Consulting & management

We take the problem off your deskand we stay until the numbers move.

Most advisory work ends with a deck. Ours ends with a business that runs differently. 9802 Enterprise LLC is retained by owner-operators and boards who need an operating problem solved — not described.

About us

A small firm, deliberately.

Founded in 2011, 9802 Enterprise LLC works with companies between $4M and $180M in revenue — manufacturers, distributors, specialty contractors, and professional practices. The kind of business where the owner still knows every customer by name and every problem lands on one desk.

We stay small on purpose. Every engagement is led by a principal who was in the room when the work was scoped, and the team that diagnoses a problem is the team that implements the fix. There is no hand-off to a junior bench.

That constraint shapes what we accept. We take on a limited number of retained clients each year, we say no to work we are not the right firm for, and we tell you what we actually think — including when the answer is that you do not need us.

  • 01

    Diagnosis before prescription

The first four weeks are spent in your data, on your floor, and with your people. We do not propose until we understand the constraint.

  • 02

    One principal, start to finish

The person who scopes your engagement runs it. No rotating teams, no learning curve billed back to you.

  • 03

    Measured in your numbers

Every engagement opens with the two or three metrics that define success, and closes against them in writing.

  • 04

    Built to be handed back

We document, train, and leave. A dependency on your advisors is a failure of the advisory work.

What we do

Two practices, one operating view of the business.

Consulting answers the question. Management services carry the answer through. Most clients start with the first and ask for the second once the findings land.

Practice one

Business consulting

Short, scoped engagements aimed at a decision you are trying to make or a number that is not behaving.

  • 01

    Operational diagnostics

A structured review of throughput, cost, and process across the business, ending in a ranked list of the constraints actually costing you money — with the size of each one quantified.

  • 02

    Margin & pricing strategy

Line-level profitability by product, customer, and job. We find the revenue you are servicing at a loss and rebuild pricing and quoting discipline around what the work really costs.

  • 03

    Growth & market entry

Demand sizing, competitive position, and a costed entry plan for a new line, region, or channel — including the case for not doing it.

  • 04

    Financial modelling & capital readiness

Driver-based forecasts, covenant headroom, and working-capital planning built to survive a lender or investor reading them line by line.

A brass rule resting across a stack of bone-coloured paper in raking light

“A finding nobody implements is an expense, not an asset.”

Practice two

Management services

Longer retained work where we carry operating responsibility alongside your leadership team, not beside it.

  • 05

    Interim & fractional leadership

A seasoned operator in the COO, GM, or finance seat while you recruit, restructure, or stabilise — accountable to the same targets as a permanent hire.

  • 06

    Performance & reporting cadence

We install the weekly and monthly operating rhythm: the dashboard, the meeting, the owner for each number, and the follow-through that makes it stick.

  • 07

    Organisational design

Roles, spans of control, accountability, and compensation redrawn to match where the business is going rather than how it grew.

  • 08

    Succession & ownership transition

Multi-year preparation for a family handover, management buyout, or sale — governance, second-tier leadership depth, and clean books well ahead of the event.

Scoping calls run about ninety minutes, cost nothing, and end with a straight answer about whether we are the right firm for the problem. If we are not, we will usually know someone who is.
